ClearSight: Data-Driven Decisions for IT Transformation
Last updated on
Overview
Section titled “Overview”ClearSight — Data-Driven Decisions for IT Transformation
Organizations often face fragmented data, complex application landscapes, unclear modernization paths, and pressure to optimize costs and improve sustainability. Without a factual, end-to-end view of the IT estate, decisions rely on assumptions — increasing risk, delaying transformation, and limiting business impact.
ClearSight establishes a fact-based view of the current IT landscape, enabling confident, data-driven transformation planning.
Typical Capabilities
Section titled “Typical Capabilities”- Cloud Readiness Assessment: Evaluation of application suitability for cloud migration, including rehost, replatform, or refactor recommendations.
- Application Discovery & Dependency Mapping: Automated or semi-automated analysis of the current application landscape, including identification of interdependencies and technical constraints.
- Migration Strategy & Wave Planning: Structured definition of migration waves, including prioritization logic, grouping criteria, and factory-based execution model.
- TCO / ROI Analysis: Financial modeling to assess cost implications, savings potential, and business case justification for cloud adoption.
- Target Architecture Definition: High-level architecture blueprint aligned with STACKIT services, including landing zone, networking, and security design.
Typical Fit Criteria
Section titled “Typical Fit Criteria”The asset is ideally suited and will deliver its greatest impact under the following conditions:
- Limited Transparency Across Application Landscape: The customer lacks end-to-end visibility into their application portfolio, including dependencies, usage, costs, and business value.
- Need for Data-Driven Decision Making: Strategic decisions (e.g., modernization, consolidation, or decommissioning) require a fact-based, tool-supported assessment rather than expert judgment alone.
- Fragmented or Siloed Information Sources: Application-related data is dispersed across multiple systems (e.g., CMDB, monitoring tools, financial systems) and requires consolidation into a single source of truth.
- Application Portfolio Optimization Pressure: The organization is under pressure to reduce IT costs, improve efficiency, or eliminate redundancies within the application landscape.
- Cloud or Transformation Initiative: The customer is planning or executing a cloud migration, modernization, or digital transformation program that requires a clear understanding of the current state.
- Need for Automated Discovery & Insights: Manual data collection is not feasible due to scale or complexity, and automated discovery and analytics are required.
- Stakeholder Alignment Challenges: Multiple stakeholders (IT, business, finance) require a common, transparent view to align on priorities and roadmap decisions.
- Continuous Portfolio Governance Required: The customer aims to establish an ongoing capability for application portfolio management rather than a one-time assessment.
