Changelog
Coming soon
Every framework except Data & AI is available today. Data & AI already ships its first assets and its guided journeys are on the way.
Frameworks
- Coming soon Data & AI Framework
Features
- Coming soon STACKIT S3 object storage with CDN
- Fix A STACKIT excerpt in a presentation keeps its "What is this?" note.
- Fix The buttons under a presentation slide now show a frame when you reach them with the Tab key.
- Fix On a phone the menu button now tells screen readers whether the menu is open, and Escape closes the menu.
- Improvement In a presentation a heading now stays with the table, list or cards below it. A single sentence left over at the end of a step moves back onto the slide before.
- Fix A click on a picture in a presentation column opens it large again.
- Improvement Switching between light and dark mode now fades softly over one second. With reduced motion turned on in your system it still switches at once.
- Fix Start in a presentation no longer depends on fullscreen. If the browser refuses it, the deck starts in the window.
- Fix A picture in a presentation column now fits the column on a laptop screen instead of running past its foot.
- Improvement On a phone an asset step in a trail no longer shows the contributor card below the asset card. The asset card already names the contributor.
- Improvement In a presentation a column with more below now fades out at its foot, and a button under it scrolls it. Asset and trail cards in a column are shorter: no contributor card, no list of steps.
- Fix Turning slides fast back and forth in a presentation no longer leaves a blank slide on screen.
- Improvement A presentation opened on a German page now speaks German: the settings, the controls, the step list and the presenter view.
- Improvement A link to an asset, trail or contributor that does not exist in this language now says so. If it exists in the other language, the note links there.
- Improvement In the presentation Auto-fit now splits the steps again when the window changes size, for example when fullscreen starts. Tables, code, lists and card grids taller than a slide go on to the next slide; pictures shrink to fit.
- Fix On a phone the agenda and the title slide of a presentation now fit the screen, upright and sideways.
- Fix In an open asset or trail long words now wrap on a phone and cards no longer run out of the panel.
- Fix "On this page" no longer lists "Overview" twice.
- Fix German trail panels now count trails and name their buttons in German. All German texts of the site now use the formal "Sie".
- Fix In light mode small grey and turquoise text on tinted panels, the WIP label and the small labels of the presentation are easier to read.
- Improvement In the SCF Studio the check for similar entries now says why an entry is similar. The AI help compares by itself, without a click.
- Feature In the SCF Studio the AI help now writes along in the body. A sign next to each heading offers plainer wording, a continuation or what is missing. After a short pause it suggests plainer wording by itself, and an empty body can start with a first draft. Nothing changes until you take it.
- Improvement The AI help in the SCF Studio now works without your own token. It is simply there: suggestions for trail steps, the duplicate check, the guided start and plainer wording.
- Feature In the presentation the progress bar now shows each step. Point at it with the mouse to see the step numbers. Each one names its step and jumps there with a click. On a phone a tap on the bar opens a list of all steps.
- Fix The date at the bottom of a presentation now reads day, month, year (26.09.2026).
- Improvement In the presentation a slide now glides in the direction you move. On a phone the preview of a split step grows into the column without any line jumping. The pages of one step keep their title in place.
- Improvement A link to the Cloud Framework shared in a chat or post now shows its own preview picture, the mountain scene with the logo, and the name STACKIT Cloud Framework.
- Feature On a phone the front page shows the mountain scene again. It stays in view while the cards scroll past and turns to the framework you are reading. The page is less than half as long as before.
- Improvement In light mode the front page has a better sky gradient behind the mountains. The balloon now links to Schwarz Digits. The construction sign reads DEMNÄCHST on German pages. The scene pauses while it is out of view.
- Improvement The SCF Studio replaces the separate studios for assets and trails and was rebuilt from the ground up. One tool now writes profiles, assets, trails and framework pages in English and German. It leads you through each step and can open the pull request for you.
- Improvement Presentation mode on a phone turned sideways keeps the slide for its content: the top of each slide takes one short row. On a phone held upright, a picture placed beside the text now shows above it at full width.
- Improvement In presentation mode on a phone, a trail step with two columns shows one column large and the other as a preview beside it. A tap, a swipe or Next swaps them. The top of each slide takes less room. On every screen, a slide no longer names its source when the step title already says it.
- Feature Assets, Trails and Contributors now show beside their title what went live in the last 7 days. One click shows exactly those entries. The card badge now reads "New".
- Feature Assets, Trails and Contributors share one filter panel instead of a menu per filter. Assets can also be filtered by type, such as guide, blueprint or runbook. The arrow keys move between the boxes.
- Improvement Contributors can tick a box in their pull request to have their pages translated. After the merge a second pull request brings the pages in the other language. The contributor reviews it before it goes live.
- Fix On a phone, Enter in the explorer search now puts the keyboard away, so the results are no longer hidden behind it. The search bar sits in two rows.
- Fix Asset pages no longer scroll sideways on a phone. A trail step no longer shows a contributor card that leads to a missing page. Switching the language keeps an open asset, trail or profile open.
- Fix Grey text in light mode is easier to read. The explorers no longer scroll sideways. The sidebar shows a scrollbar only when it needs one.
- Fix In presentation mode, two prepared views that differ only in their chosen alternative can both be picked. Before, the second one jumped back to the first.
- Feature AI assistants now find and read the Cloud Framework more easily. Every page is also available as plain text that such tools can take in directly.
- Feature The STACKIT Cloud Framework is public at framework.stackit.cloud. The former addresses redirect there, so existing links keep working.
- Improvement Lists can be put in order, and a list plays its trails one after another as a kiosk. Useful for an unattended screen at an event.
- Feature A heart on every asset, trail and contributor card saves it to a list of your own. Lists can be named and an entry can move between them. A list can be handed on as a link, as plain text or as a QR code.
- Fix On a narrower window the search field pushed the header icons off the screen. The field now gives way instead. The wordmark steps aside before the controls do.
- Feature The front page carries a card grid below the mountain scene, grouped like the sidebar. Below 1200px the labels on the map turn into round icon chips and below 600px the cards take over the navigation completely.
- Improvement The front page overview now carries its own marketplace object.
- Feature A trail step can now carry several alternatives and the reader picks one. Copy for AI exports exactly the selected alternative and the presentation mode shows it too.
- Improvement The header reads more clearly. The language switcher shows the active language as DE or EN instead of a globe and the search field is now called Search in Framework. Its keyboard hint names Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux instead of showing the Mac shortcut everywhere.
- Improvement The help card at the end of a page opens our own feedback panel now instead of the STACKIT customer service desk. Shift+F opens the panel from anywhere.
- Improvement The footer links to STACKIT Marketplace and STACKIT Docs instead of STACKIT.de and the Portal.
- Improvement The activity timeline on an asset shows the name a person wants to be known by instead of the name that git recorded in the commit. Whoever clears their name appears as Anonymous contributor.
- Improvement The Well equipped marker on a card is now its glyph alone and sits on the same line as the category. The dots in the climb log sit on their rail.
- Improvement The search field in the header is wider and its panel opens on the field itself instead of in the middle of the page. It unfolds out of the line you clicked rather than simply appearing.
- Feature Search now sits in the header. One field finds assets, trails, contributors and the text of every page. ⌘K opens it from anywhere.
- Improvement Every address is shorter. /cloud-framework/migration-framework/ became /migration/ and the front page moved to the root. Opening a framework no longer replaces the sidebar: the full list stays and the framework expands inside its own entry. The browser tab shows just the page name.
- Improvement The switches in the filter menu now add up instead of cancelling each other out: one tick shows that set, a second adds the second set. "New this week" together with "STACKIT Partner" used to ask for both at once and often left nothing on screen. Samples revealed by "Show samples" disappeared again as soon as a second switch was ticked.
- Feature Assets and trails can now be narrowed by subject. The filter menu offers the most used topics and the framework control takes several frameworks at once. Migration and Advisory together shows both. The tag and framework chips on a card filter as well: one click narrows the listing, a second one widens it.
- Fix On German pages the framework chip on an asset card read "Cloud Framework" instead of naming the framework. It now shows the same wording as the sidebar. So do the chips in English.
- Improvement The trails overview loads far faster. A trail is fetched when you open it instead of every trail being sent up front.
- Feature The hut on the migration mountain is the Marketplace now. Its window lights up when you point at it. A button on the right flank leads to the same place.
- Improvement The cloud on the front page says where it leads. It carries the STACKIT Portal wordmark and lights up with it.
- Improvement Contributor cards name STACKIT as "Owner" instead of showing a house seal. It sits beside the green "STACKIT Partner" badge and says what the role is rather than who the company is.
- Feature Asset cards now link their Marketplace entry through a pill in the status row, so a bookable asset is one click away.
- Improvement The card you opened is now marked and the panel below it points back at it with a small spur.
- Improvement Long asset and trail panels now carry a floating exit with "Back to top" and "Close". Escape closes them as well and closing brings you back to the card you came from.
- Feature All diagrams now carry the design language of the framework and follow the light and dark switch of the site instead of the setting of your operating system.
- Fix Diagrams whose shapes carry links were rendered incomplete. On one of them only 3 of 14 elements were visible.
- Feature Contributor profiles now list the assets and trails that contributor brought in.
- Improvement Contributor cards now show how many assets and trails a contributor maintains and lead straight into that list.
- Fix The "In N trails" label counted hidden sample trails, so a click could land on an empty result list.
- Fix "Copy for AI" returned little more than headings on trails. The export now carries the content of every step.
- Improvement A contributor logo is only published once Framework Core has recorded that the brand rights are on file; until then the site shows the neutral placeholder instead of the image.
- Improvement A contributor without a usable logo now shows a question mark on the placeholder, so a missing logo reads as missing instead of looking like a very plain one.
- Improvement Maintainers who empty the Full name in their Git profile are now credited as "Anonymous contributor" instead of falling back to their username.
- Improvement STACKIT itself now carries its own house seal (the STACKIT signet in a ring) instead of the partner badge. Partner badges and the partner filter mark external partners only.
- Feature Names in the asset and trail history now open a profile card on hover, just like the maintainer chips: role, organisation, contribution record and contact details, each shown only with that person’s consent.
- Feature Asset cards now explain their ranking: a "Well equipped" marker opens a climb log listing what the listing does well, such as a sharp summary, good tags, freshness, or being part of active trails.
- Improvement The ranked order now rewards well-maintained listings with bonuses instead of blocking them: every asset starts from the same base score and qualities like an ideal description length lift it.
- Improvement Starting a presentation now goes fullscreen right away, so a deck fills the screen without a second click.
- Improvement On a two-column slide every column is now centered vertically, so a short text and the card beside it share one middle line instead of drifting apart.
- Feature The Advisory Framework and the Adoption Framework are now available. Their content is live and no longer listed as coming soon.
- Feature "Get Started" on the home page now asks which journey you want: a guided tour of the framework, or the path to contributing content yourself.
- Feature A new trail walks new contributors from their first login to their first pull request, including the local preview environment and the checks that run on a pull request.
- Improvement Maintainers can be credited by their STACKIT Git username. Name, biography, website and contact address are then taken from that person's own Git profile, so they stay current without editing every page.
- Improvement On a two-column slide both columns now start at the same height and a short introduction text sits centered beside the section instead of stranded above a large gap.
- Feature The Trail Builder Studio was rebuilt: paste an existing trail to keep editing it, arrange steps into columns, prepare presentation views, reorder by dragging. Your draft is kept in the browser.
- Improvement A trail step can show a single section of an asset without repeating its card every time. A "Show source paths" toggle reveals where each section comes from.
- Improvement Content uses more of the available width on large screens instead of staying in a narrow column.
- Fix Removed the feedback box that asked you to accept cookies and then never sent anything. Feedback is given through the feedback button.
- Feature Trail steps can place content freely in two columns: a text, an asset section, a page section or a picture on either side, or centered.
- Fix A step pointing at a single page section showed the whole page when the deck was opened straight from a link. It now shows just that section, as it does in the timeline.
- Improvement Slides use the full width of the screen, so diagrams, split slides and screenshots are noticeably larger on a projector.
- Feature A trail step can carry its own picture. It appears in the timeline and beside the text on the slide. A click opens it enlarged.
- Feature Long trails can group several sections of the same source as sub-steps (a, b, c) under one step, with a single button to expand or collapse them all.
- Feature Trail authors can prepare presentation views, for example a short overview and a technical deep dive, each with its own speaker notes. Presenters pick one on the launch screen.
- Improvement Every step can be listed in the agenda as a main point, as a sub-point or not at all. The step title now stays pinned while a long step scrolls.
- Fix In presentation mode, clicking Start or the settings gear could navigate away from the deck. Hidden slides no longer catch clicks meant for the buttons on top.
- Fix The mobile menu no longer lists entries that led nowhere.
- Improvement The header now carries the compact STACKIT mark with a "Cloud Framework" wordmark, so the home page no longer repeats the title below it. The browser tab icon follows your light or dark theme.
- Improvement The sidebar is now grouped, the six frameworks first, then Contributors, Assets and Trails. On those overview pages it is also narrower and they load more cards before you need to ask for more.
- Improvement List view now shows the contributor logo on assets, trails and contributor profiles alike, instead of a generic lightbulb on assets. The logos no longer sit on a white tile in dark mode.
- Improvement The "Get Started" button on the home page now matches the buttons on the mountain map beside it, same size, arrow and hover response.
- Improvement The grid/list toggle now uses the same rounded-square highlight as the header icons and the changelog icon stays lit while you are on this page.
- Improvement The contribution history now reads "Contributed in" and uses one consistent avatar style throughout.
- Improvement Overhauled the Migration Framework overview diagram: a clearer big picture, readable in light and dark mode, with hover highlights on every module.
- Improvement Presentation mode now has a presenter view in a second window: the audience sees only the slide, while you get the step's notes, your own notes on any slide (saved per deck in your browser), an "up next" preview, a timer and a clock.
- Improvement You can now choose which trail steps to present: keep "Show all steps" on, or pick per step whether it appears as a slide and whether it is listed in the agenda. The remaining slides renumber from 1 and your selection is remembered per trail.
- Improvement The presentation settings now offer presets: Standard, Minimal, Kiosk and Focus. They switch the whole set of options at once. The panel closes when you click outside it and step icons line up with the text beside them.
- Improvement Trail steps can now reference a single section of an asset instead of the whole asset, so trails can be composed at a finer, more granular level.
- Improvement Assets and trails now support up to 10 tags each, raised from 5, so contributions can be described more precisely. Cards show a "+N" chip for the tags that do not fit, search matches all of them including the hidden ones. Curated lists can pre-filter by several tags at once.
- Feature Asset and trail explorers got a collected filter menu: one button now bundles the "New this week", "STACKIT Partner" and "Recommended by STACKIT" filters, with a badge showing how many are active.
- Feature Assets and trails can now be sorted by creation date or last update, next to the default ranked order. Filters and sort order persist in the URL for shareable links.
- Improvement Fresh contributions get a one-week head start: newly published assets earn a temporary ranking bonus and new trails surface at the top of the trail list, so they are visible before any clicks come in.
- Feature Fresh contributions now stand out: asset, trail and contributor cards show a subtle "New this week" pulse for everything published within the last seven days.
- Feature Assets and trails now carry a contribution history: a compact 12-week activity strip that expands into the full edit timeline with dates and contributor names.
- Feature A new feedback button in the top bar lets you describe an issue, attach screenshots and optionally mark and comment on any text, image, or element on the page. Everything is bundled into a ready-to-send message, no login required.
- Improvement The Cloud Framework overview map got a refreshed illustration with a chairlift, a skier and a snowboarder on the slopes, a gondola on the cable car and a hot air balloon drifting past.
- Improvement Hovering a spot on the Cloud Framework overview map now pings a soft radar ripple and glow. The spot also drifts gently toward the cursor.
- Fix The "Expand" button on tables site-wide now shows its correct label instead of a raw translation key.
- Improvement Section headings referenced by a trail now carry the "In N trails" link right next to the heading, opening the trail explorer filtered to exactly the trails that use this section.
- Improvement Page snippets embedded as trail steps now also show the "In N trails" link on their card, jumping to the trail explorer filtered to those trails.
- Fix Presentation mode: agenda slides with more than 8 steps now flow into two balanced columns instead of running into the slide controls at the bottom.
- Feature Asset cards and every page embedded in a trail (including via section links) now show in how many trails they are used. Click the label to open the trail explorer filtered to exactly those trails. Trail usage also lifts an asset in the ranking.
- Improvement Asset card descriptions now show up to three lines instead of two before truncating.
- Fix Fixed the trail grid spreading cards apart on wide screens when a filter left only a few results; cards now stay left-aligned with a constant gap.
- Fix Fixed a single asset search result stretching to the full width of the page instead of a normal card width.
- Fix Fixed the asset explorer framework filter only offering one option instead of every framework.
- Fix Fixed the presentation mode logo overlapping the slide title and content on mobile phones.
- Fix The Trail Builder Studio's drag-and-drop now also works by touch on phones and tablets.
