What this is
Section titled “What this is”Most contributions to the framework arrive on behalf of a company: a partner, a STACKIT team, a service provider. Their profile carries the logo, the description and the portfolio of everything they contribute.
Not every contribution works that way. Someone improves a page in their own time, or their employer has no profile here yet, or the work is simply a personal one. This entry exists so that those people can be credited by name without having to invent an organisation they do not represent.
What it changes, and what it does not
Section titled “What it changes, and what it does not”Being listed here says one thing only: there is no company profile behind this contribution. It says nothing about the quality of the work, and it changes nothing about how a contribution is reviewed. The same checks run, the same review applies, and a page contributed this way sits in the framework exactly like any other.
It also carries no company mark. The site shows the neutral ridge instead of a logo, because there is no brand to display.
Assets and trails under this entry
Section titled “Assets and trails under this entry”This is a full contributor slug, not a lesser one. Assets and trails may be filed under assetcontainer/open-contributors/ and trails/open-contributors/ exactly as they would be under any company, and they surface in the explorers, the loaders and the search like everything else.
The one thing to know is how credit works when the shelf is shared. A company entry stands for one contributor, so the profile carries the attribution on its own. Here it cannot: several people file under the same slug. The maintainers block on each page does that job instead — name yourself with user: your.username and the page credits you, above the git history that already records who wrote what.
Moving later is a file move. Once your organisation has a profile, its pages move into its container and the attribution follows.
When to use a company profile instead
Section titled “When to use a company profile instead”- Your employer already has a profile here. Use its slug in your declaration. Contributions are then attributed to the company, which is usually what both sides want.
- Your employer has no profile yet. Register it. A contributor profile is an ordinary page in the content repository, so it takes the same fork and pull request route as any other contribution and gets the same review. A company profile is worth more than a shared entry: its own page and a portfolio that collects every asset and trail it brings. Its logo follows separately, once Framework Core has recorded the brand consent.
- You are contributing as yourself. Then this entry is the right one.
How to get listed
Section titled “How to get listed”Open a Contributor declaration issue in the content repository and give open-contributors as your organisation. Framework Core or a framework owner records it, and from then on the site credits you the way you released it.
