The STACKIT Terraform Provider enables platform teams to define, provision, and maintain STACKIT cloud infrastructure using declarative HashiCorp Configuration Language (HCL).

## Service Overview
- **Eliminates Manual Overhead**: Prevents configuration drift and errors caused by manual portal interactions ("ClickOps").
- **Scalable Infrastructure**: Enables modular, reusable blueprints across Dev, Test, and Production environments.
- **CI/CD Integration**: Connects seamlessly with pipelines like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.

## Technical Details
- **Declarative Coverage**: Supports provisioning of VMs, Kubernetes (SKE), DNS, Networks, and Managed Data Services.
- **IAM & Access**: Manages service accounts, API tokens, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) via code.
- **Drift Management**: Automatically detects differences between defined state and actual cloud resources during `terraform plan`.

## Limitations & Constraints
- **Day-1 Parity Gap**: Newly released STACKIT Portal features may experience minor delays before becoming available in the provider.
- **Complex Identity Integration**: Deep cross-tenant identity federations and initial OIDC setups require portal/support interaction.
- **Legacy Imports**: Importing pre-existing, manually created resources into state can be complex and process-heavy.
