STACKIT Resource Manager provides a central tree-like hierarchy to organize cloud resources and enforce top-down governance.

## Service Overview
- **Structured Governance**: Enables transparent cost allocation and permission inheritance across organizational levels.
- **Environment Isolation**: Strict project-level security boundaries prevent unauthorized inter-project access.
- **Free Core Service**: Provided free of charge as a foundational cloud platform component.

## Technical Details
- **Hierarchy Tree**: Customer Account -> Organization -> Folders -> Projects.
- **IAM Inheritance**: Inherits permissions automatically from organization level down to projects.
- **Landing Zone Automation**: Supported natively via the STACKIT Terraform Provider.

## Limitations & Constraints
- **Single Folder Depth**: Supported folder nesting depth is limited strictly to a single folder level.
- **Single Parent Relation**: Each resource container belongs strictly to one parent project or organization.
